News From Gozochannel
PRESS RELEASE 09/01/2006

Due to the obligatory docking that the Gozo Channel vessels have to go through to remain compliant with international standards, the MV Gaudos will be out of operation for the next five weeks, with effect from Thursday, 12th January 2006. The company would like to inform its esteemed clientele that during this period, the company will not be in a position to perform trips beyond the 23 daily trips outlined in the schedule. The cargo trips to Sa Maison will also be cancelled during that period and operators are requested to use the Cirkewwa trip for those five weeks.

These restrictions are not expected to have a substantial impact on operations, as, during these two lean months, the incidence of extra trips is minimal.

The above arrangements will continue until such time as the MV Gaudos is returned to the fleet, that is, towards mid February. In the meantime, the Company will be doing its utmost to reduce the vessel’s stay at the Shipyard. The company will also ensure that the MV Malita is operated with both hoistable decks down so that it can cater for the heavy traffic as and when necessary.

Whilst wishing to reassure one and all that Gozo Channel is doing its utmost to render a safe, reliable and timely service, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
