At around 14.30 hrs an anonymous call was received at the Victoria Police Station, in Gozo giving notice of a bomb threat onboard the Gozo Channel vessels .

Having been informed by the Police, the Bomb Disposal Unit Personnel were sent to the Cirkewwa Quay to screen the MV Malita which was at the time berthed there.

Meanwhile, Gozo Channel personnel evacuated both its vessels in current operation, as a first precautionary measure.

At 16.45hrs the Bomb Disposal Unit cleared the MV Malita for operations. Service with this vessel resumed at 17.30 hrs.

In the meantime, the Bomb Disposal Unit Personnel is inspecting the MV Ta' Pinu at Mgarr, Gozo, which will resume operations once it is cleared..
