Baggage Trailers
Gozo Channel Company Limited refers to the statement by the Gozo Tourism Association on the baggage trailers service provided by the company to its passengers.
The company shares the GTA’s view that this new service provides a useful, comfortable service to tourists carrying baggage for their overnight stays in Gozo. We regret the recent stoppage of this service which is due to industrial action ordered by the Union Haddiema Maghqudin.
We are currently in talks with the Union to try to resolve the matter without any further delay and inconvenience to our passengers. However, the GTA will understand that any outcome of the current negotiations cannot possibly imply increased costs to the company which is already in a severely tight financial situation. It would be unfortunate if unreasonable intransigence is allowed to overtake common sense, and we end up buying industrial peace at any cost, including a cost transferred to passengers who deserve the best quality service with the lowest possible price.
