‘LANCA GEJJA U OHRA SEJRA.........’
Maltese and tourists commuting to Gozo during this year’s Santa Marija festivities, cannot help but noticing folk singers aboard Gozo Channel’s MV Ta’ Pinu and MV Gaudos. This initiative is aimed at providing thousands of Maltese and tourists expected for this year’s crossings with a taste of local culture thus setting the mood for Malta’s most popular festa.
Speaking about this initiative, Gozo Channel’s General Manager Mr Marvic Fenech Adami stated that “this is yet another step forward in our continuous efforts to provide a pleasant service to all our customers. We believe that Gozo Channel should be the ideal usher to a complete Gozo experience and that the best way to experience the island is through a reliving of its core traditions.”
A number of local folk singers are presently performing in the vessels’ lounges namely John Laus, Cikku tal-Fjuri, Joe ta’ Rahal il-Gdid, Patrick il-Germaniz, Toni tal-Gebel, Jason in-Nekus, Gorg ta’ Cikku tal-Fjuri and Frans il-Budaj. Entertainment is being offered during the morning trips commencing at 9.15 from Cirkewwa till 12.00 from Imgarr. This initiative will be extended till Sunday 19th August.
